Biography

Anna Justyna Orzeł

born April 25, 1977, in the village of Rymań (Poland)

Education

She graduated from the State Secondary School of Fine Arts in Koszalin in 1997, obtaining a vocational diploma in Visual Arts with a specialization in ceramics: functional forms. She earned a Master's degree in Public Administration from the Baltic University of Humanities in Koszalin. She completed studies in Pedagogical Preparation, Education and Rehabilitation of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Oligophrenopedagogy), and Education and Revalidation of Persons on the Autism Spectrum at the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz. She also completed a program in Social Assistance Management at the Pedagogical University in Warsaw.

Additionally, she trained at the SYNAPSIS Non-Public Teacher Training Center in Warsaw, earning a diploma in Social and Vocational Activation for People on the Autism Spectrum. She worked at the Koszalin District Office, then at the Polish Association for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (Koszalin Branch) as an occupational therapy instructor, running a ceramics studio for many years. Later, as a senior occupational therapy instructor, she also led a ceramics studio at the Social Welfare Home in Nowe Bielice. She subsequently transitioned to working in public education institutions — primary schools — as a special education teacher, providing revalidation and co-organizing special education for children with various disabilities.

The artist finds joy in the ability to create and share her passions with others. She works in various artistic techniques such as clay sculpture, ceramics, and oil painting. She is open to diverse artistic activities. In her life, she embraces Christian values and listens to the words of Saint John Bosco, who said, “…in this world we do not have a time of peace, but a time of constant war.

In 2010 and 2011, she owned the gallery KOSZ a LIN, where she created and exhibited her works under the name Wieczorek. She participated in two plein-air painting workshops in Skoki near Poznań. Her works were also exhibited at the Koszalin City Hall and CK105 in Koszalin.

Sport

She competed in track and field events representing Koszalin (Koszalin Society for the Promotion of Physical Culture). She has been registered as a veteran athlete since the Polish Indoor Championships in Spała (2013), where she won the 1000 m and 400 m races. She runs sprints as well as middle distances and has collected numerous titles and medals. At the Polish Indoor Championships in Toruń (2018), she won two bronze medals. During the Polish Championships in Toruń (2018), she earned a bronze medal in the 200 m race. At the European Masters Indoor Championships in Toruń (2015), she and her teammates placed 5th in the 4 × 200 m relay, setting a new Polish record. In 2020, at the Polish Championships in Lublin, she won a silver medal in the 400 m and a bronze medal in the 200 m. She is the current Polish record holder in the classic pentathlon in the K35 age category — a record set in 2013.
